June in the studio: Cast glass sculpture
Most of June was spent fabricating 8 pieces of cast glass for Nathan Beard. One is 21kg, risky in the firing process. 5 were hand forms, tricky to make silicon moulds and make smooth waxes of. I'm delighted that all 8 cast glass pieces are out of the kiln and are currently being coldworked by Peter Nilsson and Edwina Leeper - both skilled and patient craftspeople.

Hours in Wind: casting for Kate Newby
The glass component for Hours in Wind was fabricated by the Canberra Glassworks in July 2024. Most of the pieces were hotworked by Netty Blair and Tom Rowney, but there are a few cast glass pieces.
