June in the Studio

So much green wax it seems. My perfectionism got in the way a little this month as I returned form after form to the wax pot - the more you look the more 'defects' you will find and some times the more you try and fix it the worse it gets.

I've spent time sorting and boxing glass. Making more glass circles from the afore mentioned glass. Admiring unexpected affects of glass and mixing silicon. I love this purple piece of glass, where lines of colour have overlapped in unexpected ways.

I'm amazed to have almost enough coloured pens to fill this four tired trolley.

This gummy bear was casting a huge shadow on a winters morning - like wise with me walking to the bus. At the other end of the day, the sun setting lights up this window and artwork by Ngiao Fitzpatrick at the Canberra Glassworks. I bought myself some prints from an artist on he ther side of the world.

Glass casting for Lynda Draper has kept me busy. All the elements are finished now ready for Lynda to add her ceramics. JHer show at the Canberra Glassworks opens in August.

I have also been running tests for clients of the Glassworks'. Creating different variations of colour. I enjoyed laying them all out, sectioned by colour and glasstype. I trialled a lot of reclaimed glass, with some surprises. Most of the pinks started yellow!

And finally, some pages from my daily drawing practice. I have found for some weeks, that picking a weekly theme makes getting a drawing done more likely.
