Upon a starlit tide and other titles

Whilst the ending is abrupt, I recommend Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler for the sick feeling you get while living in Lauren Olamina's world. Great world building, highly textured and just a bit too close for comfort. Published in 1993, this pre-apocalyptic, we could ruin the world any minute, Spec-fic novel is scarily prescient.

I loved reading Upon a Starlit Tide by Kell Woods. Her imagery is gorgeous. While you feel you may know the tales gently referenced, her telling of them is fresh and unique.

I listened to The Planet Pirates Sassinak and The Death of Sleep, but unfortunately, Generation Warriors hasn't been audiobooked yet, so I dug out my 1992 paperback version to finish the trilogy. Easy to read with some serious topics packaged up in a Space pirate sandwich. Fun.
