Herringbone tesselations in glass

Squeeee! Was something like the noise I made when this experiment was demoulded. I have been experimenting with herringbone origami here and there over the years, and it is incredibly satisfying to fold and play with. After months of commissions, I have had some quiet time to fiddle about. Turning folded paper into glass has been fun.
I start by folding the paper

Dipping the folds in wax and pouring mould-mix on either side.

Once I have 2 sides I make a sandwich and pop it in the kiln - like a sandwich press!

I wasn't quite sure what was going to come out...

I'm delighted with the result!
