What is Patreon?

I first signed up to Patreon about 3 years ago after reading an article by Amanda Palmer. I had a look around, followed a few interesting artists and that is how it stayed for a couple of years. As Patreon developed, grew and became more flexible for an object maker like my self, I began to wonder how I could make it work for my arts practice. In May 2018 I finally hit the publish button!

But what is Patreon?

  • Patreon is a membership platform that makes it easy for artists and creators to get paid...

  • You can view it a bit like a magazine subscription; for your monthly pledges you receive rewards from the creators.

  • Pledges and rewards are different for each creator and you get to choose when and what suits you.

Why did I choose Patreon?

  • I make art in quite a niche area... fairy tales and glass that is! I'd like to create a community around my art work and get to know the people in it.

  • Casting glass is a slow and expensive process. If you like my work then Patreon is a way that you can appreciate and support my ongoing arts practice while I work on long term projects. It's not a one way street though...

What do I offer patrons?

  • A deeper insight into my arts practice; my inspiration and passions, process and thoughts behind my work and a place for you to ask questions about my work.

  • Monthly desktop wallpapers collaged from my art works (exclusive imagery for patrons).

  • Discounts on commissions or items in my Etsy store

  • Milestone rewards: As your pledges add up I send you bonus gifts from my every day arts practice.

3 levels of pledges:

US$1 The 'Hamelin Mice' rewards are:

A monthly desktop wallpaper design (exclusive to Patrons)

Advance access to process posts and shop updates

Milestone rewards. For every $15 pledged you get an extra something! So at $15, $30, $45, $60, $75... etc i'll post or email you a bonus reward: E.g. High quality downloads, Stickers, sketches, postcards, ha
