There are some months when drawing is hard and ideas lacklustre, but after a day or two working at the Italian Embassy (helping with the chandelier cleaning), I had inspiration.

A collection of Renaissance portrait panels held my eye, and immediately I knew what I wanted to do. A Renaissance lady Mermay mashup!

For Sirena Bellissima I kept her hairstyle and accessories and turned the embroidery on her sleeve into a tattoo.

Ann, a glassblower pointed out the illlustrations on two ceramic pots and those became a study for La Giovane Sirena.
