The Woodcutter's Daughter
"Lost stick" cast glass, natural twigs, silk and gravel.
'The woodcutter's daughter' (2013)
This work is an exploration around the many Folk & Fairy tales that begin with "Once upon a time there was a poor woodcutter...". I take from these stories, ideas of the 'in-between'. The woodcutter's family lives on the edge of the forest, neither in the wood nor in the village. In folk lore the liminal space or border lands denote an enchanted site where transformations can take place.
