The Woodcutter's Daughter

This work is an exploration around the many Folk & Fairy tales that begin with "Once upon a time there was a poor woodcutter...". I take from these stories, ideas of the 'in-between'. The woodcutter's family lives on the edge of the forest, neither in the wood nor in the village. In folk lore, the liminal space or borderlands denote an enchanted site where transformations can take place.
