How could I resist this book on the sale table on my way to pick up some lunch? The cover, the title, and the blurb all convinced me it was a good choice.

But when I finally got to the ghost story and read it quite quickly, I wondered if had I missed some pages in my haste. I reread the story to myself out loud to make sure I got every word. The introduction and the chapter on the Byland Abbey Ghost stories were fascinating while the story itself took some background reading to truly appreciate.
